Some of the differences between them are their religion (Jess is Indian and her religion is Sikh and Jules is English and she doesnt have a religion), skin colour(Jess is Asian and dark skinned and Jules is English and colour skinned), the clothes they wear (Jess wears traditional Indian clothes and Jules wears typical and casual English clothes), their beliefs (one of Jesses beliefs could be that she believes in God and Jules index not have any beliefs or believe in God), the music (Jess listens to traditional Indian music and Jules listens too English music), dancing (Jess does traditional Indian dancing and Jules does English dancing) and the weddings (one of Jesses family members could be having a wedding tho the wedding wouldnt be an English wedding, it would be a traditional Indian wedding. And if one of Jules family members is getting married it wont be a traditional Indian wedding or just a traditional wedding it will be non-traditional English wedding.

In the film Bend It like Beckham, it shows Jess disobeying her parents to go play football with a group of girls. Jess is going her parents beliefs and disobeying them by playing football. She is going against her parents beliefs because her parents dont believe that girls and women should play football because they think that women should be at home all day cleaning the house and working as a housewife. She is also disobeying her parents because they think that she is working but she is actually pretending to go to work and then sneak out to go play football.
